My name is Jason Lake. I am the physical education teacher at West Elementary. A major goal of the Physical Education program at West is to promote awareness and development of physical fitness, an appreciation and enjoyment for movement activities, and team building skills. This website will provide parents and students with information on the different types of physical education activities the students of West will be participating in on a weekly and yearly basis.
Physical Education allows all children to experience meaningful and enjoyable movement activities and exploration. Play and physical activity are essential to children’s physical and mental growth and development. A physical education program should provide opportunities for all students to be physically active on a regular basis.
