Emma Ousley
Junior Scholar
Students in grades
7- 8 pursuing excellence, may earn the Junior Scholar Award by expanding their
reading beyond their required assignments.
At the awards assembly in May, these outstanding students are recognized
by the entire school and receive a certificate. Their names will also be engraved on a plaque in the
library.
To receive the
award, the student must complete the following:

level and keep a list. (See the Scholar
log sheets available in the library)
·
Read one book from 10 non-fiction Dewey sections.
·
Read books from 10 fiction genres and award lists
specified on the log sheet.
2. Complete the reading share sheet for each
book not covered by Reading Counts tests.
3. Participate in the Reading Counts Program.
4. Maintain a reading log verified by parent.
·
This is an
optional challenge to 7th

completed list is due on or before April 15th. If you have any questions about this
